We had a fantastic time at this hotel! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making sure that our stay was perfect. The communal dining room and lounge had beautiful views, and the individual shower rooms were regularly cleaned and well-maintained. The dorms were comfortable, with sinks and shelves for each bed, as well as various charging points. The kitchen had everything we needed, with some useful extras like cling film for communal use. There was even a good drying room with plenty of newspaper for drying soggy boots. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms, toilets, and hostel overall. Good parking availability. Excellent location near a hotel with good food options
Room was too small and cramped, hard to move around. Bunkbed not very stable, seemed more suitable for youth.

The Port Charlotte Youth Hostel exceeded our expectations with its friendly and helpful staff, especially Karl and his wife Lorna. They made our stay enjoyable and convenient, which was important in a place with limited transportation options. We would love to visit again and spend more time here.

I had a work trip but decided to stay a bit longer to enjoy the weekend. The hostel's fantastic location and comfortable facilities made my stay even better. Lorna and Karl, the welcoming hosts, made me feel special. The lounge area was cozy and filled with useful information about Islay. The spotlessly clean rooms, toilets, and hostel overall created a relaxed and friendly vibe. Plus, there's good parking and a hotel nearby with delicious food. Definitely not my last visit!
I can recommend this hostel.

There was a slight smell in the women's toilets, possibly indicating a drainage issue. More bathrooms are needed to accommodate the number of guests in the hostel.
